The Lower East Side or commonly referred to as the LES is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Manhattan.  The neighborhood has an authentic vibe made up of what were low rise tenement buildings. Hip boutiques, hotels and now luxury condominiums can be found all over the neighborhood now. You will always find some the newest and hippest restaurants first pop up in the LES.

Known as one of the gateway neighborhoods for immigrant communities coming to New York, there is a rich history and cultural heritage that runs very deep in the LES.  You have a blend of multi-generation residents that have deep roots in the neighborhood along with an every changing flow of new people drawn to the lively spirit of the neighborhood.

You will find a lot of apartments with that authentic old school character in the Lower East Side, the walk-up building, the firescapes, but now you will also find the new condo buildings and rental buildings as development has been brought into the neighborhood.
